Women experts and feminist knowledge production
in post-war East Central Europe (1945–1989)

Mart Chmielewski participated in the second conference organized by the Historical Materialism network in Cluj, Romania, titled “Interregnum Here & Now: Post-Communist Collapse, Planetary Crisis, and Emancipatory Resolve.” Mart presented a paper, “Women’s Labour in Poland’s Cooperative Sector from State Socialism to Neoliberalism,” as part of the panel “Socialist Experiences as Knowledge Production.” The conference offered a space to examine women experts in state socialism through Marxist theoretical perspectives informed by Eastern European experiences.
