Natalia Jarska, Annina Gagyiova and Eszter Varsa organized a panel entitled 'Women Experts and Feminist Knowledge Production in East Central Europe, 1945-1989'. Annina Gagyiova’s paper addressed the role of Hungarian pediatrician Emmi Pikler in shaping expertise on institutional childcare and its relevance for working mothers. Natalia Jarska’s paper explored the impact of Western feminist sociology on Polish expertise on women’s work in the early 1960s, focusing on Viola Klein and Magdalena Sokołowska. Eszter Varsa examined the intersection of gender and race in the life and work of Mária László in 1950s Hungary.
Team members Katarzyna Stańczak-Wiślicz and Anna Dobrowolska also participated in the event, presenting their research conducted as part of other projects.
